The Radisson Blu at CDG, formerly Radisson SAS, is one of more than 400 hotels across 73 countries owned by American company Radisson (which is in turn owned by Carlson Companies).
The Radisson is technically not on the airport site, but just outside, in the town of Le Mesnil-Amelot. It is next to several other hotels, but the location, by a small park, is quite pleasant. The free airport shuttle gets you to the various terminals in about seven minutes.
The hotel has 240 spacious, comfortable and soundproofed rooms which have wifi access, satellite TV, a mini bar and a hospitality tray. There are four types of room: economy, standard, superior and junior suites. A buffet breakfast is included with all rooms. Economy rooms are quite small.
There are also rooms for disabled guests.
The restaurant, Le Terminal R, sells globally-inspired French food. In summer a terrace is opened and diners can eat outside. It is open for breakfast from 6am until 10am, for lunch from noon until 2.30om and for dinner from 7pm to 11pm. The cosy bar, Le Cockpit, is open from 10am until 2am weekdays, and from 5.15pm until 2am at the weekend.
There is a good range of activities available at the hotel, including a large indoor swimming pool with sauna and steambath. There is a snooker table in the lobby, table tennis facilities and a tennis court. There is a large garden too, which is a nice addition.
There are 22 meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 300 people. State-of-the-art conferencing facilities are provided.
Free wifi is available throughout the hotel. An express check-in and check-out service is in operation. Check-in is at 3pm, check out at noon.
Private parking is available on-site and costs €11.00 a day.
The hotel is located in the village of Le Mesnil Amelot which is located on the final approach to runways 27L and 27R. A short walk outside the hotel should give good views.
