Hotel Pullman (formerly Sofitel) is owned by Accor Hotels, the French hotel chain which owns Etap, Ibis and Novotel, among others. This particular residence has 344 rooms and is 500 metres from Aérogare 1.
Location
The hotel is on the airport site, between terminals 1 and 2. There is a free shuttle bus between the hotel and those terminals every 10 minutes between 5.40am and 00.20am, and on request at other times.
Rooms
There are three types of room – classic, superior and luxury – as well as junior suites and a presidential suite. There are also eight disabled access rooms. The cosy rooms are en-suite and have all the usual facilities, like hairdyers and a minibar. The satellite TV has pay-per-view channels and video games. Unfortunately, wifi is charged.
Facilities
There are 13 fully adaptable meeting rooms and a business centre with support staff. Most standard office equipment is hired and things like overhead projectors can be hired, as can secretarial and translation services.
If you are looking for a bit more privacy, there is an executive floor with a private reception and VIP lounge. There are 42 rooms on the floor.
The hotel restaurant, L’Escale, serves an international menu and is open from noon until 2pm and 7pm until 10.30pm. There is a bar, the Cape, with a library and smoking room, open from noon until 1am.
The leisure activities at the hotel are excellent. There is a swimming pool and fitness centre, two tennis courts, table tennis tables and badminton courts. Nearby, and for guest use, there is an 18-hole golf course, a nine-hole golf course and a clay tennis court.
A great addition is the 24-hour check in/out service. There is also a dedicated airport desk for any flight enquiries.
Pets are allowed in the hotel but are charged.
Parking
There is extensive parking available, from private enclosed outdoor parking to private non-enclosed outdoor parking, valet parking and public parking. All parking is charged.
Planespotting
As it is between two terminals, certain rooms of the hotel have views of the busy taxiways that link the terminals. Ask for a room on a high floor facing east, towards terminal 2.
